2005

1996

Until 1996

renovation work has taken place time and again: the rooms, restaurant, halls, toilets and terrace were renovated.

1970

Marriage of Franz and Leopoldine Klinglhuber

1967

Takeover by Franz Klinglhuber

1945

The building was almost completely destroyed in a bombing raid before the end of the Second World War. After the end of the war, the Red Army set up camp in the guest house.
The reconstruction took place promptly. At first, guests could only sit on picnic benches, but over the years everything began to return to normal. Many Krems clubs held – and still hold – club evenings and events at Gasthof Klinglhuber.

1926

Conversion of the rooms with running water – the best standard at the time.

1920

Takeover by Franz and Marie Klinglhuber

1884

the name “Klinglhuber” was first mentioned. The founders were Leopold and Leopoldine Klinglhuber.
The guest house was a typical “Einkehrgasthof”, at that time still with stables and parking facilities for horse-drawn carriages (today’s small hall). At that time, a large cattle market was held opposite the guest house every Tuesday. The guest house was therefore open from 4:00 am. People traded in the guest house and sales were sealed with a handshake.

Before 1880

there was a salite mine on the site of today’s guest house. Saliter (calcium nitrate) was needed for the production of pencils.
